Balloch - Helensburgh Diversion Route still available

Work to create a new pathway through the forest where "Impassable Area" is marked on the map is ongoing but the route is now open. Trees are all cleared and views are better than they were before.

The path is ‘as dug’ and time will tell if this will provide a suitable durable surface. If you don’t fancy the current muddy surface then the diversion we suggested is still in place since it is a permanent routeway over forest road and quiet singletrack public road. It rejoins the Three Lochs Way either side of the hill section.

Diversion signage as indicated on this map has been removed. The ‘diversion’ is still a great route with superb views over the Firth of Clyde and is only 1 kilometre longer.
